Veterans Day - Hearing Loss

Veterans Day - Hearing Loss

In the United States, hearing loss is the most common injury to veterans since 9/11. Troops often return from deployment with diminished hearing, ringing in their ears, or both. It makes sense when you consider causes like roadside bombs, gunfire, and loud engines. Today, more than 400,000 veterans of the Afghan and Iraqi wars suffer from this invisible injury. Members of our armed forces don't always have the ability to protect their hearing. You do. For Veterans Day, Listen Carefully is sharing their stories and asking you to Hear Our Heroes.

Yesterday November 11th was Veterans Day and we honor all the courageous warriors who fight for freedom. We can assure you that this statistic of hearing loss in veterans is a new measurement and that modern warfare has been impacting hearing health for the entire 20th century. We acknowledge veterans from WWI, WWII, Vietnam, Korea, Gulf and all the conflicts that affected soldiers and their hearing capabilities.

We send you prayers.
