Independent Charitable Affiliates
As a Non-Profit Organization, Ascoltando inc. adopts the intention to help, educate, and open up opportunities. For those who have a charitable heart with an entrepreneurial edge, we developed a system to help them integrate to the organization.
This is where you can open up your own Ascoltando Chapter. We call this an I.C.A and it stands for Independent Charitable Affiliate. Clearly certain guidelines were put in place to maintain the integrity and niche of the Organization.
Here's some information that you will need to know before opening an Ascoltando I.C.A. If you'd like to learn more about how to become an Independent Charitable affiliate, fill out the form on this page.
Ascoltando inc. sets up chapters as independent corporations. This methodology gives you a independence. We become a financial sponsor for your organization to become tax exempt and be able to receive charitable donations.
To get started, you need to incorporate a Non-Profit in your state. To do this, you will need a Board of Directors, Bylaws, and a name that includes Ascoltando. For Example: SFO Ascoltando.
Once a year your Ascoltando Chapter has to do three things to keep our brand alive:
1) Develop and complete ONE "Power of 5 fundraiser". Those funds will go directly to fight malnutrition though one of our partner companies.
2) Develop and complete ONE "Note Magiche Fundraiser Dinner". You will have liberty to direct those funds directly to an institution that helps children with hearing impairment. For example Arizona School for the deaf and the blind.
3) Participate in the official "Ascoltando Annual t-shirt Fundraiser" to support our operation and continue growing.
A 5% Donation Volume Fee is required to maintain an Ascoltando I.C.A. This means that every time your I.C.A. makes a Donation, a 5% fee extra should be sent to Ascoltando inc. This is for accounting and accountability purposes purposes. For example, when your I.C.A. makes a $500 donation to a school, a $25 bank transfer should be made to Ascoltando inc.
For accountability purposes, bank statements MUST be submitted through our website for our accountant to oversee and validate the accounting portion of your I.C.A. requirements. Your President, Vice-President and Treasurer will have credentials to access a special part of this site and receive education and support.
As a 501(c)(3) we must protect our niche of interest since we had to make a declaration of purpose to the IRS. For this reason, your ICA operantion has to stay within the boundaries of the following niches:
Hearing Loss related issues. This includes any condition that leads to Hearing Loss or is aggravated by Hearing Loss
Italian Culture related issues. This includes anything that helps promote the Italian culture and language.
Artistic and Musical related issues. This includes supporting Artist and Musicians.
As part of our Branding, Ascoltando inc. requires you to manage your online presence in a very specific way. Katana Sites is our sister company and we arranged a deal to drop their basic corporate plan down a generous 75% . Any Ascoltando ICA will only pay $25/month through Katana and this includes tools that will help you with emailing, lead capturing and more. Katana will make your job as easy as possible.
Social Media is something that you will have to manage yourselves. Our only requirement is for you to include our logos, hashtags and statements of purpose. Of course we have a social media strategy that is quite effective and has worked on dozens of accounts.
Ascoltando inc. wants your chapter to be strong and independent. We know how hard it is to run your own organization. Our dynamics and strategy has been created with the purpose of giving you an incredible support system via private forums, and emailing systems that can provide you all the tools you need to execute a strong plan as a non-profit organization and start making a difference in the lives of others. And of course, we can always schedule a phone conversation if we need to.
The board of directors of your Chapter will have special credentials to access the Forum and other private parts of the site to submit all the paperwork on a monthly basis. This will help your Chapter stay compliant and secure as it backed up by an IRS approved 501(c)(3).
